Rolls-Royce signs £1bn Singapore Airlines deal

Rolls-Royce has secured a £1bn contract to supply engines and technical support to Singapore Airlines.
The firm will build Trent 700 engines in Derby to power 15 Airbus A330 aircraft.
Rolls-Royce said the order was a testament to its investment in making the engine type as efficient as possible.
About 11,000 people are employed at the company's plants in the Sinfin area which make various types of engine.
Singapore Airlines currently operates 19 Airbus A330 powered by Trent 700 engines.
Nick Devall, from Rolls-Royce's Civil Aerospace department, said: "Our continuous investment in the improvement of our products has ensured that the Trent 700 is the clear leader in the market.
"Singapore Airlines has been a great partner and we are delighted to extend this relationship further."
