Redcar steel plant recruitment to start

Recruitment for 1,000 jobs at the former Corus steel plant in Redcar will start next month.
The plant was mothballed in February 2010 when a contract fell through, with the loss of 1,600 jobs.
Thai firm Sahaviriya Steel Industries (SSI) bought it six months later and has said up to 1,000 new jobs will be created.
SSI said it hoped to announce soon when operations would restart.
It said it had used the time since buying the plant to analyse its condition and draw up plans for running it again.
Recruitment will start on 8 August.
Phil Dryden, the CEO at SSI UK, said: "I realise that since SSI UK purchased the Teesside facility in March this year there has been a great interest within the Teesside community about when steel making will be resumed.
"There has already been a considerable amount of time and effort invested in planning the project, and I am hopeful that we can give a target date soon.
"With this in mind we are taking another significant step in commencing the recruitment programme in August."
